Intellimize – Privacy Policy

We take privacy and web data protection seriously.

Intellimize provides a technology platform designed to help websites be more relevant and productive for consumer and business visitors, which is why we take data privacy and piracy very seriously. This privacy policy governs the Intellimize website located at (the “Intellimize Site”) as well as our technology service (the “Service”), and any information provided directly to us by individuals, whether they are clients, potential clients, business partners, employees, or potential employees.

We provide a Service that allows our clients to manage their digital data subject to their own privacy policies. In that way, our clients can manage their data in a responsible way, and our privacy policy informs website visitors so they can better understand what data is collected by Intellimize and how it is used.

Intellimize Website

The Intellimize Site is primarily directed to our clients (our “Clients”) and prospective clients, which are generally businesses. We don’t collect personally identifiable information (“PII”) such as email addresses or telephone numbers from the Intellimize Site unless it is provided to us. For example, a visitor may choose to send us an email that contains their PII, download a white paper, or request a demonstration, in which case we’ll ask for PII such as their name, company name, email, and telephone number. We use the PII we’re provided to answer questions, to send requested information, for general marketing purposes, including through third parties, and/or to service our Clients’ accounts. We also collect the same non-personally identifiable information (“Non-PII”) from the Intellimize Site as we obtain from our Clients via our Service. Non-PII is information that cannot by itself be used to identify a particular person or entity and may include without limitation an IP host address, pages viewed, browser type, zip code or city level geo-location data, Internet browsing and usage habits, the time/date of a visit to a website, the referring URL, and a computer or device’s operating system.

How we use PII, Onward Transfer

We aim to keep PII data off of our Service and do not intentionally collect PII via the Service, but we do collect PII as described above only through our Site. As described above, we may obtain PII when visitors to the Intellimize Site choose to provide it. For Clients who have setup an account with Intellimize, we use that Client’s PII we have to administer their account. When Clients terminate their accounts, Intellimize removes that Client’s PII from our systems within a reasonable time following such termination, subject to our right to retain (i) copies of transactions between the client and Intellimize and related payment information, (ii) information relating to any dispute or potential fraud, (iii) any additional information that in Intellimize discretion, needs to keep to protect our legal rights or the rights of others.

From time to time, Intellimize engages with partners to perform services on behalf of Intellimize or other Clients who use our services. For example, we may provide information to corporate affiliates or to third parties under contract with Intellimize (“Contracted Parties”) to provide services such as credit card verification and processing, marketing services, fraud detection and prevention, or data hosting. In all cases, Contracted Partners are contractually required to maintain the confidentiality of PII and may not use it for purposes other than performing the specific services on Intellimize ‘s behalf. Other than such disclosure to Contracted Parties, Intellimize may also disclose PII if such disclosure is required for Intellimize to comply with valid and binding legal requirements, to protect Intellimize ‘s rights or property (or that of Intellimize Clients), and/or where needed to protect personal safety. For example, Intellimize may be required to disclose information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including by government law enforcement or national security agencies. In the event we are required to disclose information in response to legal process or a government request, we will attempt to notify affected users for which we have contact information to the extent we are legally permitted to do so. Finally, Intellimize may transfer information, including any PII, to a successor entity in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or other corporate change. If Intellimize is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, users will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on the Intellimize Site of any change in ownership or uses of PII, as well as any choices users may have regarding their PII.

Intellimize Technology Service

Intellimize is an agent working under the direction of our Clients which are generally website owners or operators that use our Service. We offer a Service that collects Non-PII from Internet users when they visit the website of one or more of our Clients (the “Client Site”). We don’t place PII on the Service nor do we allow our Clients to do so. We may set additional rules for our Clients regarding how information is collected and used on the Service, but such data is collected and used subject to the individual privacy policy for each Client. We use a number of different technologies to maintain user state, collect data, and to help us operate the Service and describe some of them below.

HTTP Cookies

Intellimize uses cookies and other web browser non-cookie technologies in connection with the Service, including on the Intellimize Site and Client Sites. A cookie is a small text file that is stored in a web browser by a website or ad server. By saving information in a cookie, or in other local browser files, websites and servers can remember preferences or recognize web browsers from one visit to another or from one website to another. When a user visits one of our Client Sites, the user is assigned an Intellimize user ID that is placed into a cookie, which is then placed on that user’s computer or device. Intellimize also uses other local web browser files, as allowed by the preferences set by the user, to help provide a customized user experience to visitors of our Client Sites.

How we Collect and use Non-PII via our Technology Service

Intellimize offers a technology Service for website operators, and we utilize the Service when users visit the Client Site. When a user visits the website of one of our Clients (the “Client Site”), the Client collects and transfers to Intellimize and/or enables Intellimize to collect Non-PII data related to that user’s visits to their website (our Client’s “Session Data”). This Session Data may include information about how the user came to the Client Site, which search engines they use, the search terms used to find the Client Site, their experience on the Client Site, information about how they interact with the Client Site, and other non-PII information that the Client has collected from that user and other visitors, data from third-party data providers, and information regarding how users interact with the Client Site. Additionally, browsers send certain standard information to every website a user visits, such as an IP address, browser type, language settings, access times, and referring website addresses. This information is collected during visits to each Client Site, including the Intellimize Site. We make Session Data accessible only to each individual Client. The Service typically uses this data to deliver more personalized content and experiences on the Client Site. For example, Clients may use the Service to help them find interested users and to deliver a unique interaction with the Client Site to each user. The data stored on our Service may be combined with other third party data in order to deliver better customized interaction, to enable Clients to better understand users and for content delivery and reporting purposes.

Intellimize does not share PII through the Service with either partners or third parties. Clients may choose to share their PII data with other third parties at their discretion and in accordance with their privacy policies. Reporting is done at the aggregate level, with no user level information accessible.

Children, Sensitive Data

In accordance with industry standards and law (e.g., the COPPA regulations in the U.S.), we do not knowingly collect, administer, or enable the commercial use of PII relating to children less than 13 years of age.

Intellimize does not knowingly collect, use, or store sensitive information on our technology Service. Sensitive information (“Sensitive Data”) includes certain types of information associated with a specific individual, such as Social Security Numbers or other Government-issued identifiers, financial account numbers, sexual orientation, precise information about an individual’s past, present, or potential future health or medical conditions or treatments (such as diabetes, heart attacks, etc.), including genetic, genomic, and family medical history. Sensitive Data also includes information deemed sensitive by a particular jurisdiction.

Your Choices

Do Not Track – Some web browsers offer a mechanism, known as a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”), that allows a user to elect to stop the collection of certain browsing data by websites and technology companies. Currently, the standards regarding the DNT signals and appropriate responses are not adequately defined. As a result, while we respect the privacy of our users, we are not able to respond to Do Not Track signals set by your browser at this time.

Delete PII – While we don’t knowingly obtain PII via our technology Service, if you’ve provided Intellimize with PII via the Website (e.g., by sending us an email or by registering with Intellimize as a Client), Intellimize provides the ability for Website users to obtain and correct or request destruction of their PII maintained by Intellimize by sending an email to or by contacting us at the address noted below. We will answer these requests in a reasonable time. We will also allow Website users to control the delivery of promotional emails from Intellimize.

Data Retention / Minimization

We store PII such as email address or billing details so long as you continue to have a business relationship with Intellimize. You may ask us to delete that information by following the instructions above.  If requested to remove data, we will respond within a reasonable timeframe. Otherwise we will retain data we process on behalf of our customers for as long as needed to provide our services and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

We take commercially reasonable efforts to maintain security protections in accordance with industry practices to protect data we collect from loss, alteration, destruction, misuse, and unauthorized access or disclosure. We have policies to help maintain control and physical security of the facilities used to store data and only allow access to data to those authorized personnel that have a need to know the information in order to provide and support our services. All Intellimize employees are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to disciplinary or legal action if they fail to meet these responsibilities.

We process information in a way that is compatible with and relevant for the purpose for which it was collected. To the extent necessary for those purposes, we take reasonable steps to ensure that any information in our care is accurate, complete, current, and reliable for its intended use.

Changes, questions, and communication

From time to time, we may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in industry standards or evolving legal requirements when necessary, and all changes will comply with regulatory, legal, and industry standards. Please review this privacy policy from time to time to remain informed regarding how Intellimize is protecting your information.

If you have any questions regarding this privacy policy, or if you would like additional information, please contact us at or via mail to 500 Second Avenue, Suite A, San Mateo, CA 94401.

If we are required to contact you concerning your information, we may do so, if permitted by law, via email, telephone, and/or mail.
